Finding and taming
Allays spawn caged in pillager outposts and woodland mansions — free them and they follow you. Give it any item (a stack of cobblestone, a poppy, wheat seeds) and it will search a radius for dropped items of that kind, collect them, and deliver them to you or a nearby note block. A note block within 16 blocks becomes its delivery point and it hums when it hears one.
Duplication — the amethyst trick
Give an Allay an amethyst shard and it duplicates itself after a 2.5-minute dance cooldown. One Allay plus an amethyst supply becomes a workforce: assign each clone a different item (one collects wheat at the farm, another stone at the quarry) and your item logistics automate themselves — gently.
Practical jobs
Allays shine at sweeping drops: post-boss loot, mob grinder items that miss the hoppers, farm rows that scatter produce. Pair one with a hopper collection point and note block at your sorting chest, and the last 5% of farm drops stops rotting on the ground.
