Reading your luck
The TV’s Fortune Teller reports daily luck in tiers: from "spirits are very happy" (best) to "the spirits are absolutely furious" (worst). Luck is a hidden multiplier on random outcomes — it never changes crop growth or fixed drop tables, but it powerfully shifts the mine and Skull Cavern.
What luck changes
Good luck days: more ladder and shaft spawns in Skull Cavern, better geode contents, higher gem quality chances, more frequent monster drops, and rarer night events. Bad luck days: infested floors multiply, ladder spawns thin out, and trash fishing rises. The classic advice holds: save Skull Cavern deep runs for very happy days, do farm and animal work on furious days.
Luck-adjacent items
The Special Charm (Witch’s quest reward) adds a permanent daily luck boost; Lucky Lunch and other luck foods nudge it for a day. Spouses and the random events still roll independently — luck is a lever on the random number generator, not a guarantee, which is exactly why tracking it daily matters.
