Eligibility
Voice chat (spatial voice) requires a verified age of 13+ — the account verifies age with a photo ID scan through the platform’s verification flow — plus good account standing. Once enabled, the microphone icon appears in experiences that support voice, and voices are spatial: players closer in-game sound louder.
Moderation in voice
Voice is recorded-and-reviewed by the moderation systems with the same standards as text: harassment, hate speech, personal information and adult topics are all bannable. Muting individuals in-experience is the first tool; reports from other players are the second. The account standing rules apply to voice exactly like text — repeat voice offenses escalate like any other.
Creator side
Developers choose whether their experience supports voice and can gate it per experience. For games with young audiences, creators commonly disable voice entirely. Voice also pairs beautifully with the platform’s social hub experiences — the "sit around a campfire and talk" genre exists because of this feature.
